Tiger Woods withdraws from Players Championship
Tiger Woods withdrew from the Players Championship on Thursday due to injury after slipping to six over par over the opening nine holes. The 14-times major winner came into the tournament after suffering knee and Achilles tendon injuries and said he had hurt himself on the first tee shot. Woods missed last week's tournament at Quail Hollow due to injury and he only played his first nine holes of golf since last month's Masters on Tuesday.
