#1 Duke Goes Down Hard!

Arizona put a beat down on the Duke Blue Devils last night. Arizona’s Derrick Williams had a memorable game, from start to finish. The 6'8 sophomore scored 25 points in the first half against Duke, then teamed with sophomore guard Lamont “MoMo” Jones and a fired-up supporting cast to dominate the blue devils in the second half.  There domination of Duke puts them into the elite eight and they take on an upset specialist team which is the Butler Bull Dogs.

Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manual was on the radio this morning giving fans an update from spring training.  He first touched on Chase Utley and said Chase will miss some games but he wasn't sure how long he will be out.  Chase has tendentious in his knee. Charlie then touched on the signing of Luis Castillo saying that he will evaluate him over the next 10 days to see if he can fill in while Utley is out. Finally Charlie had some good news and said that Roy Halladay threw 7 great innings yesterday and is already in mid-season form.

First Day of Spring!

Spring has come; yesterday was the official first day of spring. We didn't have to wait long for the first batch of spring showers either. Today in the Chadd's Ford and West Chester area, we are seeing some heavy rain. With the start of the April showers we start to look forward to the May Flowers that follow, but that isn't the only thing the showers bring, they also bring flooding! Make sure you have all the right flood polices and home insurance in place before you get stuck with a flooded basement. But that is not the only thing we think of when we think of spring. The first day of spring also brings Free Rita's Water Ice Day! Every first day of spring every Rita's Water Ice opens all day long offering free water ice to anyone willing to wait in line. There are Rita's Water Ice's located all over the Philadelphia area. Check out Rita's website to locate a store near you.

Tips for buying life insurance

Here are a few tips for buying life insurance courtesy of msn.com
1. Figure out your needs. You can use online calculators or contact a Kimberley Vassal insurance agent to get a rough idea of how much money it would take to cover your surviving spouse’s expenses until retirement, and/or your children’s expenses until they reach adulthood or finish college.
2. Opt for term life. A term-life policy is the best and simplest option for most Americans ranging in age from about 20 to about 50.
3. Get in shape. To improve your risk class, you can take steps such as quitting smoking, losing weight and reducing your cholesterol and blood pressure if they’re high. You also can get that exam before you apply for insurance so you’re not hit with any surprises.
4. Make adjustments as needed. Your life insurance needs will change over the years – most notably when you marry, divorce, have a child or start caring for an aging parent.

Ash Wednesday!

Don't forget to go get your ashes today! It is Ash Wednesday which is the start of the Lent season. Ash Wednesday, according to christian tradition, occurs 40 days before Easter (not including Sundays). It is a day in which you start your fasting for Easter. The name Ash Wednesday comes from the practice of getting blessed ashes put on your head in the shape of a cross. The ashes comes from burned palms left over from last years Palm Sunday. Don't forget this means Easter is right around the corner. Have a good Ash Wednesday and beginning to the Lent season from everyone at Kimberley Vassal Insurance Services!
