Would you...?

This weeks question is...

Would you rather have Lebron James and Dwyane Wade or Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony on your favorite team for one season to try to win a Championship?

Last night we saw those 4 players in what seemed like a playoff atmosphere game.  The Heat were ahead all game only to lose in the last few minutes.  The Heat had a chance to tie the game in the end but James missed the three point attempt.  The Heat are the third worst team in the NBA in games decided by 5 points or less.  They will need to turn that stat around during the playoffs if they want a chance to win it all.

Let us know your thoughs about this weeks question. Visit Kimberley Vassal Insurance and make it a great day!

NJ Nets to get Deron Williams?

After the NJ Nets were disappointment from their failure to get Carmelo Anthony, the Nets have agreed to a blockbuster trade with the Utah Jazz for Deron Williams, ESPN sources say.  The Nets will send Derrick Favors and Devin Harris to Utah for the All-Star point guard.  The deal is scheduled for completion later today,  after a trade call with the league office.  It would also involve the Golden State Warriors and bring multiple draft picks to Utah. Stay updated on this story by checking back with the Kimberley Vassal Insurance blog site.

Pirates Kill 4 Americans

The fate of the four Americans held by pirates on their yacht off Somalia ended in tragedy today as all four perished at the hands of their captors, Navy officials say. "This did not end the way we wanted it to," says a Navy official. "After we'd be talking to the pirates for four days we were hoping for a better ending." The USS Sterett (the 500-foot destroyer) came within "several hundred" yards of the 85-foot yacht Quest, which was owned by Jean and Scott Adam and also carrying friends Phyllis Macay and Bob Riggle. As they got closer to the yacht "they heard shots and an RPG was fired at the Sterett" from the yacht, a Navy official says. By the time sailors boarded the yacht, the four Americans had been mortally wounded, as had two pirates, apparently by their fellow pirates. "Those two may have wanted to surrender -- we just don't know yet," he says.

Detroit first baseman arrested.

Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and two counts of resisting an officer without violence after authorities found his vehicle smoking from the engine compartment on the side of the road .  An arrest affidavit said Cabrera refused to submit to a breath test, cursed at officers and asked them, "Do you know who I am?" Cabrera also picked up a bottle of Scotch and took a swig of it right in front of the officers that were present. In addition to facing the misdemeanor charges, he was also cited for having an open container of alcohol in the car. This is not Cabrera's first time with alcohol problems.  He was arrested in 2009 after coming home drunk and having an argument with his wife.  Cabrera was second in MVP voting last season and a is a big part of the Tigers organization. Need car insurance?  Visit Kimberley Vassal Insurance Services today!

Would You...?

We are starting a weekly a "Would you...?" questions on our blog site.  This will be any question that is related to recent news or sports.  The "Would you...? questions are brought to you by Kimberley Vassal Insurance.
This week's question is:

If you were the Phillies, would you trade Ryan Howard for Albert Pujols considering that you would have to sign Albert to a 10 year 300 million dollar deal?  This would make Pujols 41 in the last year of his contact.

Please give us your answer or any feedback on this situation.

Valentine's Day

According to Catholic.org the origin of St.Valentine remains a mystery, but there is proof that St. Valentine did exist.  Archaeologists have unearthed a Roman catacomb and an ancient church dedicated to Saint Valentine.  Valentine's Day is an annual commemoration held on February 14 celebrating love and affection between intimate companions.  It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").  Visit Kimberley Vassal Insurance and make it a great day!

Tiger Woods now in contention in Dubai?

Tiger Woods ended his opening round of the Dubai Desert Classic with a late eagle at the par-5 closing hole, leaving us to wonder if the impressive finish was a mere temporary flashback to the younger Tiger or a harbinger of things to come. If his Friday score was any indicator, it may be a sign of good things to come.  Woods shot a 6-under 66 on Friday at Emirates Golf Club to post 7 under par for two rounds is now four shots back of leader Rory McIlroy.  After his impressive round Woods said, “I played myself right back into the tournament. I felt I hit the ball a lot better and the greens were absolutely perfect. It was steady. I didn’t make as many mistakes as yesterday and I felt it was important to post a number.”  Woods continues the third round today in the Dubai Desert Classic. Pitcher and Catchers Report Soon!!

We are only a few days away Phillies fans. Our aces on the mound will report to Clearwater Florida in only 3 days! Phillies fans in Clearwater will be supporting them all through spring training. The 4 aces (Halladay, Lee, Oswalt, Hamels) said that they will not do any interviews without the fifth man in the rotation, that would be Joe Blanton.  They said they do not want to leave him out of anything, but we all realize he is not on the same level as the other 4 guys.  We can only wait to see what happens as there have been several reports that Blanton will be traded soon.  Stay tuned in with us here at Kimberley Vassal Insurance for all Phillies updates.

Christina Aguilera knows the National Anthem right?

It’s been all over the internet for the past two days, Christina Aguilera royally messed up the “o’er the ramparts we watched” line from the National Anthem when she performed the song at the Super Bowl on Sunday.  There’s no excuse for this screw up right?  Well given that it’s the Super Bowl (which is the highest rated thing on TV) and Christina’s been performing the National Anthem publicly since she was seven and should know the words by now there is really no excuse.  But if you think about it like this, if she really has performed it since she was seven, then she's bound to mess it up at some point right?  If that's the case then she just picked a really, really bad time to do it. Eagles and Jon Gruden talking?

Reports came out late last night about Jon Gruden was in town talking to the Eagles about a coaching job.  These rumors blew up this morning on all the local news and radios stations beause apprently Jon Gruden was seen in the city.  The Philadelphia Eagles then released a statement saying this was not true and Andy Reid is there coach.  But now as fans we have to think if the Eagles came out and released a statement that quick, maybe there is something brewing in the city of brotherly love.  Stay tuned to the Kimberley Vassal blog site for all the important updates.

Who Will Win Best Super Bowl Commerical for 2011?

The Pittsburgh Steelers or Green Bay Packers will of course battle for victory on the field, but the popularity competition among commercials that air between plays has become huge!  The Super Bowl is one of the most watch programs on TV all year, but is it watched for the game or the commercials?  Last year there were several great commercials, but the fan favorite was the Snickers commercial starring Betty White. Will Snickers take home the "fan favorite" award this year? Check out this sneak peak! Visit Kimberley Vassal Insurance and make it a great day!

Black History Month

February marks the beginning of Black History Month. Black History Month actually started as Negro History Week in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson. The goal of Black History Week was to educate Blacks about their cultural background, and instill in them a sense of pride in their race.  In America we have celebrated Black History Month since 1976.  We celebrate the history of African-Americans in the classroom, on television and in daily life.  Visit Kimberley Vassal Insurance Services to see what we can do for you and make it a great day!
