The Most Stressful Jobs of 2011

While the media proved to have several of the most stressful jobs on the list, the top spot went to commercial pilots, who must endure the difficult combination of having to work long, irregular hours and the pressure of keeping passengers safe while ensuring that flights run on time. Take a look at the list of Top 10 most stressful jobs in 2011 below:
1. Commercial Airline Pilot
2. Public Relations Executive
3. Corporate Executive, Senior
4. Photojournalist
5. Newscaster
6. Advertising Account Executive
7. Architect
8. Stockbroker
9. Emergency Medical Technician
10. Real Estate Agent
Needless to say though, even the least stressful jobs still carry some stress, and anyone in the workforce will likely scoff at the idea that their job is significantly less stressful than others on the list. Indeed, some 70% of employees say their career is the main source of stress in their life, according to one study cited by Careercast.

Tiger Woods withdrew from the Players Championship on Thursday due to injury after slipping to six over par over the opening nine holes. The 14-times major winner came into the tournament after suffering knee and Achilles tendon injuries and said he had hurt himself on the first tee shot. Woods missed last week's tournament at Quail Hollow due to injury and he only played his first nine holes of golf since last month's Masters on Tuesday. Who knows what the future holds for Tiger but we wish him the best of luck! Check out our Partners page at www.kimberleyvassal.com for special savings and coupons.

Gas Prices Begin to Drop!

Gas prices have finally began to drop after their peak last-week. "The national average price dropped half a cent Monday from Sunday's level and now stands at $3.96 for a gallon of regular gasoline, according to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report. That's the fourth drop in a row after the price hit a high of more than $3.98 on May 6. Average prices fell in every state Monday, led by 3 cent drops in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin." How far prices will go down is anybody's guess in the wake of last week's sharp sell-off in oil and other commodities and the fact that Gas prices typically go down in June. We are in for down slopping ride hopefully! For a free insurance quote visit our website today at www.kimberleyvassal.com

NEW YORK, NY - APRIL 28: NFL Commissioner Rog...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
Danny Watkins showed up as a potential Eagles pick at 23rd overall in some mock NFL drafts over the past month or so, but people who thought they knew Andy Reid quickly dismissed that idea. Watkins, a tackle from Baylor, is universally projected as an NFL guard, as he acknowledged to reporters minutes after the Eagles made him their first round pick. Watkins is 26 years old, turning 27 in November, after having spent 5 years as a professional firefighter in his native Kelowna, British Columbia. He never played a down of football until he was 22, when he traveled to the United States to study in a fire-sciences program at Butte Junior College in Chico, Calif.

Oswalt leaves Phillies after storms hit hometown

CLEARWATER, FL - FEBRUARY 22: (EDITORS NOTE: ...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
A few hours before Tuesday's game, Roy Oswalt was talking on his cell phone and occupied with something that is an unusual occurrence for a starter on the day he pitches. The Phillies announced Wednesday morning that Oswalt had left the team for an indefinite period to be with his family and friends after tornados were blamed for at least six deaths in Mississippi. Oswalt's exact return date is unknown, but the team is hopeful he will be back before his next start, which is scheduled for Tuesday because of two coming off days.  Oswalt threw 57 pitches in Tuesday's start. It was his worst as a Phillie and the first time he lost a game since his debut on July 30, 2010.

Flyers Series Tied 2-2

BUFFALO - OCTOBER 3: Derek Roy #9 of the Buff...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
Miller silences critics in pushing Sabres past Flyers. After blanking the Flyers in Game 1, Miller rebounded from two poor outings to shutout the Flyers again Wednesday night at HSBC Arena, and in the process quieted some outside observers in western New York who may have thought the former Olympian who led the United States to a silver medal last year had lost his golden touch.  The Flyers and Sabres now enter a 3 game series starting in Philadelphia tomorrow night.  Flyers have to go strong to the net against Miller who will try to continue his standout play as they look to snap an 0-for-13 streak in playoff series in which they’ve been down two games to one.

Flyers Up 2-1 in Playoff Series

BOSTON, MA - JANUARY 13: Danny Briere #48 of ...Image by Getty Images via @daylife
After two very different games in Philadelphia, this series came into sharper focus in Game 3. It now looks and feels like the Flyers have a handle on things. They reclaimed the home advantage they lost in Game 1.  Mike Richards played a big role in creating Zherdev's goal, making some space and then placing the pass where Zherdev almost couldn't help but score. But the captain was also on the ice with defensemen Braydon Coburn and Kimmo Timonen to kill that crucial five-on-three.  Briere scored another goal against his former team. This time, Scott Hartnell was the Flyer who pounced on a Sabres mistake when Chris Butler over skated the puck behind his own net and feathered the perfect pass. Briere fired it past the diving Miller.  The Flyers look to go up 3-1 in the series over the Sabres tomorrow night!

Ryan Madson’s wife hates Philly?

According to Deadspin.com Madson’s wife stated:
“I hate the fans. It is bad enough that they bother us during the season, but they will not leave us alone in December when we go out to eat. We stayed here during the off season last year, but we will be going to California this year. There must be something particularly bad about Phillies fans because all the players leave in the off season.”

Phillies fans what do you think about her comments?

Philadelphia 76ers Make the Playoffs!

Our Philadelphia 76ers are locked into the Eastern Conference's #7 seed for the NBA playoffs, but can they rebound from this recent funk?  In the first-round series, the Sixers will face the Miami Heat, who earned the #2 seed with Monday's win over Atlanta, coupled with Boston's loss to Washington.  It was the fourth loss in five games for the Sixers (41-40), who will end the regular season Wednesday at home against the Detroit Pistons

Our Philadelphia 76ers will look to start a play-off run by pulling a huge upset over James and the Miami Heat.  If the 76ers can pull off this upset, it will be by far a successful season for Doug Collins

Phillies Sweep the Astros!

Baseball, Jimmy Rollins, Philadelphia Phillies...Image via Wikipedia
Oswalt threw six strong innings against his former team and Ryan Howard homered and drove in four runs to help the Philadelphia Phillies complete a season-opening, three-game sweep with a 7-3 win over the Houston Astros on Sunday. Over the weekend Halladay, Lee and Oswalt combined to pitch 19 innings while allowing six runs and 14 hits. They first of the 3 aces struck out 24 and only gave up one walk. Howard gave Oswalt some early run support, launching a three-run shot in the first into the bullpen in right-center. He also had an RBI double in the third and, counting his single in the fifth, is 7 for 13 with six RBIs and three runs scored through three games. Jimmy Rollins went 2 for 3 for Philadelphia, which had 13 hits off five Houston pitchers. Rollins is 6 for 12 with four runs this season. The Phillies are off to a great start and look to continue the winning streak Tuesday as the Mets come to town for a three game series.  Cole Hamels takes the hill for the first game looking to continue the dominate performace by the 4 aces this past weekend.

Tips for buying life insurance

Here are a few tips for buying life insurance courtesy of msn.com
1. Figure out your needs. You can use online calculators or contact a Kimberley Vassal insurance agent to get a rough idea of how much money it would take to cover your surviving spouse’s expenses until retirement, and/or your children’s expenses until they reach adulthood or finish college.
2. Opt for term life. A term-life policy is the best and simplest option for most Americans ranging in age from about 20 to about 50.
3. Get in shape. To improve your risk class, you can take steps such as quitting smoking, losing weight and reducing your cholesterol and blood pressure if they’re high. You also can get that exam before you apply for insurance so you’re not hit with any surprises.
4. Make adjustments as needed. Your life insurance needs will change over the years – most notably when you marry, divorce, have a child or start caring for an aging parent.
